Fery is a lawyer from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. He was awarded the Javeriana University’s Order of Academic Merit for his excellent performance and received Ministry of Education’s distinction as one of the best scores in the Saber Pro exam in 2018. Currently waiting for degree in post graduate studies in Regulation and Management of Telecommunications, ICTs, and the Digital Ecosystem.
Before joining Serrano Martínez he worked in a real sector company, later as an associate of Avante Abogados advising companies on personal data protection, competition law, economic regulation, e-commerce, digital platforms and consumer protection, and in DIRECTV Colombia as a member of the external and regulatory affairs team. He has also been a research assistant in competition law issues.
His undergraduate thesis “The civil liability system for autonomous vehicles in Colombia” was awarded with honorable mention for its high academic quality. In addition, the thesis was chosen as one of the representatives of Javeriana University in the 24th edition of the ‘Otto de Greiff’ national contest of undergraduate theses.
He won second place in the ‘Germán Cavelier’ Essay Contest of the first semester of 2019 with the essay “For the safeguarding of fundamental rights in the digital era in Colombia: the case of profiling and automated decision making”. In 2017, he was awarded third place in the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce essay contest with the essay “Recognition and application of commercial custom: a matter of economic and social development”.
