Andrés leads the competition law department at the Firm. He is an expert in Competition Law, Intellectual Property, Personal Data Protection, and Consumer Protection. Andres worked at the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce resolving disputes related to unfair competition and industrial property. Additionally, he represented the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce before Colombian courts in the judicial review of sanctions for restrictive competition practices.
At Serrano Martinez, Andres develops strategies and advises national and foreign companies on Competition Law, Consumer Law, Personal Data Protection, and Intellectual Property.
Andres was recognized in 2021 and 2022 as a rising star in Competition Law in Colombia by The Legal 500 magazine.
Andres is a Lawyer from the Pontifical Xavierian University, Specialist in Commercial Law from the University of Los Andes, and holds a Master’s degree in Law and Economics from Utrecht University in the Netherlands. He is currently a professor of Competition Law at the Pontifical Xavierian University and the University of Los Andes.
